What our PATIENTS and their FAMILIES are saying…
I came to Sharon Health on Sunday January 31st, after an 11 day stay in a hospital Covid unit. This virus has been the hardest fight in my life. I had hoped to go home but the virus depleted me substantially. Coming here, I was immediately settled in, the staff attentively calming my anxieties. I knew at that point I was meant to be here for rehab. As the weeks went along, I had many opportunities to see and hear these caregivers in action. At times they are close to overwhelmed giving this care. Sometimes, due to reasons beyond control, any facility can quickly be short staffed. These folks would rise to the occasion and engage… and with good nature. I never heard a course word in a situation where I am not sure I could refrain myself. These folks go above and beyond no matter how hard or long their shift is. My experience with therapies has been great. I have come a long way faster than anticipated. These folks are friendly and honest, making me want to go forward. I looked forward to each visit with them. My discharge is a day away. These people here have been my family for the past 2 plus weeks as I have not seen those close to me for the past month. I am grateful for their care and support and know that leaving this place and people will be a bit hard. So, in closing, I want to thank you for finding the right people to do a very hard job. You can do everything right as far as physically. But it is the caregivers and support and management that must gel together that really make it work…and it does work at Sharon Health.
The Sharon Health Care Center offers rehabilitation in a home environment. Extremely important after treatment in a huge hospital. The phenomenal staff radiates love, devotion and hope. You will not find a finer group of devoted, efficient, professionals. All functions are dedicated to restoring your health at every stage of your recovery. The “hands on“ facility is organized to maximize productivity of personnel. Selected Employees are cross trained to perform multiple functions. Emergency storm plans are in place, ready to be activated. Delicious, nutritional, meals are served on time. To avoid serving incorrect diets Meals are coded heart healthy, low sodium, and low fat and are restaurant quality. Laundry drops are washed, organized and put back into patient drawers. Patient names are placed on each garment to ensure laundry items are not lost. There’s a beautiful 40-foot weeping willow tree just outside my window. The willow that weeps honors the bravery of our soldiers in the early days of the pandemic. I was lucky enough to get into Sharon. I am going home COVID free.
I would like to thank the entire staff at the Sharon Center. My Aunt Betty C. was a patient and was released today. My cousin sent a video link of her graduation. Thank you for being there for her and all of the patients. Please know how appreciated you are even here in Ohio!!!
